On Nov. 14, the Bishop Gorman Gales dominated their playoff game against Foothill with a score of 56-6, since then played in their state championship game on Nov. 25 where they defeated Arbor View with a score of 44-7 and were crowned the reigning champions.
The Gaels have won five consecutive state championships and are often seen as the powerhouse of high school football in Nevada. This was the second time that the Gaels have met Arbor View in the state championship and both times the Aggies have fallen to the Gales.
As the Gaels reflect on a season that was defined by hard work and a trip to the state championship, they have much to be proud of. Wide receiver Zyren Menor ‘28 said, “As we won the state championship I felt accomplished and blessed. Winning state isn’t an easy thing to do. I also thought of all my senior teammates that are now done with high school and how much of an impact they’ve made. As we go back to the drawing board and work extra hard to be as perfect as we can next season.”
The Gales have delivered an incredible season, racking up eleven wins and falling only to Mater Dei. They have shown once again why they are the reigning champions of Nevada.
The state game was more than a football game, it was the last time some players would ever suit up as Bishop Gorman Gales. Quarterback and University of Hawaii commit Maika Eugenio ‘26 said, “winning state to me personally, it’s a good way to go out with a bang and cap off my high school career. It’s a great moment really just to know all the hard work we put in this year kind of paid off and it’s just over and we all got to go to college.”
The 2025-2026 Bishop Gorman football season has come to an end, closing a chapter filled with emotion, growth, and unforgettable moments that united a community and left a lasting mark on everyone who took the field.
