My name is Geneva Miller and I have been a staff writer for the Lance since Freshman year (2022-2023). I was the campus ministry editor my Junior year (2024-2026) and the Entertainment and Current Events editor my senior year (2025-2026)! I will be attending UCSB next year majoring in communications! My favorite memory in journalism was the Philadelphia trip my junior year because it brought the whole class together. I have loved every step of this process and am so grateful to have been apart of the school newspaper!

I have been apart of journalism for 4 years now and I truly have learned so much. Little did freshmen year me realize that The Lance would soon become a significant part of my time here at BG where I would be apart of such a close community. I’ve gotten to express my passion for writing through the newspaper and have used my involvement in the school to become the School News editor for the last two years. I’ve created a podcast called Gael Talk with my great friend Geneva who has been apart of journalism with me through the last 4 years. My favorite memory definitely has to be our Philadelphia trip when we attended the JEA National Conference. I have so many fun memories with these people and have grown to love writing so much more then I already did. I’d like to thank Ms. Keating for teaching me how to improve my writing and always being such a caring support system for us. I would for sure like to continue my journalism passion at the University of Arizona as I am majoring in business management where I want to create a podcast for my community to become more involved.
