Bishop Gorman Junior, Juliet Lefebvre, and the rest of the Bright Young Girl volunteers spend another day preparing boxes containing tons of essential items that will be distributed all around the Las Vegas Valley.

As the co-founder and co-president of Bright Young Girl, Lefebvre has been running the foundation for about a year now and shipped out their first wave of care packages this past January. This charity started from inspiration and encouragement from Lefebvre’s father to create a charity just as the one in their hometown.

“I couldn’t find an organization that really spoke to me and aligned with my values,” Lefebvre said, “I realized that there was a support gap for middle to high school girls and decided that we wanted to do something in that area.”

In October of 2023, the foundation held a gala at the Palms Hotel to raise money for the program. The gala was a masquerade ball for fathers and their daughters and cost $250 dollars per ticket. The event not only contained food and drinks, but also contained a live auction and a raffle for the attendees to participate in.

“From our gala we raised seventy-five thousand dollars” Lefebvre said, “with twenty to thirty thousand of that coming from our live auction and raffle.”

The money coming from that event is what funds all products that we put inside of the care packages, with Bright Young Girl receiving big sponsorships from two local construction companies. Donations have also come from parents who send stuff out to the program.
