Three Bishop Gorman competitors battled their way to the 2026 Speech & Debate State competition that was conveniently scheduled on the same day as Mock Trial’s State Competition on March 5-6.
Despite only having three competitors, these students worked extremely hard and displayed astounding results. Performing in Humorous Interpretation (HI), Lily Kim ‘28 made it to finals, and placed 6th place overall in this high stakes competition. Competing in Public Form Debate (PF), Landers Lin ‘28 and Joshua Pyo ‘28 did not place, however they went 3-1 and showed excellent speech and debate skills.
Overall, the Speech and Debate team showed perseverance through a challenging situation with a small number of students and were able to show their hard work while proudly representing Bishop Gorman.
