As the season of hearts, bright colors, and fun flavors, takes over in February, Starbucks hops on the trend and provides a carefully curated selection of drinks and treats.
Saying goodbye to peppermint and gingerbread, Starbucks brought its Valentines Day menu into full swing. The cafe brought back some fan favorites while also heavily leaning into a new strawberry and matcha combination. This meant many new additions to the menu as well as some twists to traditional items.
Isabella Rodriquez ‘26, “My favorite items this season are [the] Strawberry Matcha as well as the Banana Bread Matcha. The mix of flavors taste surprisingly good. They give me a warm feeling while also getting me ready for spring.” The drinks are not the only risk taking combinations that were made. Victoria Offley ‘26 explained that, “Usually I tend to like the drinks more than anything, but this year I loved the treats. My favorites being the Strawberry Matcha Loaf and the Berry Blondie. I wasn’t sure if I would like them at first but I thought I might as well try them. They’re now regular items in my order.”
In addition, the new merchandise has become very popular amongst customers. These items are themed around Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year, specifically themed around the year of the horse. Olivia Calloway ‘26 expressed, “I really like the hearts and horse mix in all of their merch. They’re always cute to look at before and after ordering.”
As February comes to an end, customers will soon find out which items become part of the menu and which will leave with the season. With rumors already circulating of the new drops for March, many are ready and eager to give them a try.
