On Oct. 27, they swept Centennial 3–0 in the first round, advancing with authority and showcasing the skill and focus that have defined their season.
They continued to win 3-0 in the second round of playoffs, competing against Faith Lutheran on Oct. 29.
Going into the quarterfinals, they dominated the court, finishing 3-0 against Coronado on Nov. 1. Up next, the team will face Carson High School at Sunrise High tonight in the playoff semifinals. A victory would send them to the state championship game on Saturday, where they’ll compete for another state title.
The soccer team put together a strong season, finishing with a 11-8-3 record and earning the No. 5 ranking in Nevada. Despite facing a challenging schedule, the Lady Gaels have shown steady improvement and resilience throughout the year, demonstrating both defensive strength and attacking creativity.
Unfortunately, the Lady Gaels fell to Centennial in the playoffs, losing 0–2. Reflecting on the match, Aleah Warner ‘29 shared, “the intensity of that game and the disappointment of the loss has motivated all of us to work even harder in the rest of our soccer careers. It is sad that the season is over, but I am entirely proud of every girl on the team.”
Top performers like Devyn Giraldo ‘26, who averaged 1.4 goals per match, and Emma Flannery ‘26, who averaged 1.1 assists per match, helped lead the team through a strong season. Although the season has come to a close, the Lady Gaels remain proud of their hard work, teamwork, and determination—finishing with their heads held high and their pride shining through.
As the playoffs continue, Gorman athletics remain strong. While the soccer team’s season came to a close after a hard-fought playoff run, the Lady Gaels showcased remarkable dedication, discipline, and teamwork throughout the year. Meanwhile, the volleyball team continues its pursuit of a state title, demonstrating the same perseverance and competitive spirit that define Gorman athletics.
