The Bishop Gorman Mock Trial team came back home from Reno with their heads held high, placing 4th in the Nevada Mock Trial State Championship.

Feedback played a crucial role in the team’s high placement at state, as it was the best way for them to reflect on their past mistakes and think about what could be done to improve upon them.

“After getting some feedback, we quickly grabbed some lunch and headed to the next round,” Bishop Gorman Senior Ashley Mills stated.

Each of the rounds took around two hours, and each round was completely different. New teams and new rulings called for new strategies, while a lot of the competition was also left up to chance. After a series of tough competitions, the Bishop Gorman team placed fourth overall.

Some members of the Bishop Gorman Mock Trial team also won individual awards.

“Joshua Sand was given an award for best witness, and Rachel Arcella was given an award for best attorney,” Mills revealed.

On their last day in Reno, the group took advantage of their opportunities for fun in a new city. After they went out in the snow, they played laser tag, went to dinner, and ended the night with bowling.

“The trip was an incredible experience, and we all were able to have such memorable and fun experiences while doing something we had prepped on for months.  Overall, we were able to spend several days with each other, and just have the most fun we could!” Mills enthused.
