As you may have guessed, this year’s homecoming theme is BARBIE! Get ready for a fun, pink, and pretty homecoming week!
Many of the students, especially us ladies, on campus are excited for this theme. It even changed some of our minds about going to the dance. “I’m excited about the theme,” Alexandra Ott ‘26 explained, “before it was announced, I wasn’t interested in going to the dance, and I thought I would skip, but my friends and I all love Barbie, so now we’ve already bought tickets and are making plans to come together… I’m going dress shopping this weekend for something pink!”
Ott also hopes that since the theme is Barbie, “there could be toy box photo booths, themed food, etcetera.” I would also love to see that, and maybe some themed props at the photo booth.
Mila Mayo ‘25 is excited for the dress up days and feels it will be easier to dress according to the theme than it was last year. “Barbie can be anyone and everyone, which makes it less difficult to dress in the guidelines,” she explained. “Plus, everyone has already seen Barbie, whether it be the movies, shows, or dolls.”
When I saw Barbie, I loved how well the characters were casted and I think Margot Robbie did an amazing job portraying my favorite childhood toy. Karoline Watters ‘26 expressed a similar sentiment, “I thought it was really cool to see my thought of Barbie come to life.”
I know that this year’s homecoming is going to be a fun one, and I can’t wait to see how the school is decorated and what everyone wears on the dress up days!
