The Bishop Gorman Gaels football team closed out homecoming week with a 58-0 win over Palo Verde, delivering a statement performance in front of a packed home crowd.
Beyond the game, the night carried a deeper meaning for seniors reflecting on their time at Gorman. Captain and University of Arizona commit Prince Williams ‘26 said, “It meant a lot to me personally, it was honestly a bitter sweet moment. Just all of my memories from previous homecoming weeks flooding me.”
With the crowd cheering them on, the Gales played with intensity and confidence; every play added to growing energy on the field. John Silver ‘26 said, “It was surreal, the last ride meant a lot in my heart.”
While the Gaels dominated on the field, halftime brought a different kind of excitement with the crowning of the Homecoming Queen, Jordyn Drowley ‘26.
As the excitement of halftime settled, the focus shifted back to the field. For seniors, this was the last 24 minutes of their last homecoming game. Brock Bonkavich ‘26 said, “It felt a little emotional for me knowing it was my last homecoming game, but we still have many games to go.”
As the final whistle blew and the scoreboard read 58-0. The night meant more than just a win. For the seniors, it marked one last homecoming under Friday night lights, a celebration of how far they have come and the legacy they will leave behind.
