On Thursday September 26 the environmental club came together to collectively vote for new board members to carry out new club activities for the 2024-2025 school year.
The environmental club has met twice this school year going over the objectives they want to cover this school year, some being placing recycling bins around campus to promote recycling and going on hikes.
In the previous meeting, the club elections were held, and nine students were selected by their peers to hold different roles in the club. Victoria Offley ‘26, the newest social media coordinator said, “I wanted to be a social media coordinator because outside of school I run multiple different types of social media pages and have always had a love and passion for it in a way” is not the only social media coordinator position;she is partnered with Mya Munoz ‘26.
Additionally, Stephanie Nasiak ‘26 was elected as the new vice president. She has been a part of the club for two years and is coming up with new ideas and is a strong- leader in the club, “I wanted to be vice president in the environmental club because I am passionate about environmental issues and want to take on a leadership role to create a bigger impact,” Nasiak explained.
Nasiak has already envisioned what she has to offer the club, “I plan to support the president in organizing activities and events that promote environmental awareness and action within our school and community.”
With this, the junior class also has a class representative in the environmental club. Nicholas Broz ‘26 is committed to listening to his peers and vouching for them. “I will represent the junior class by taking suggestions from my classmates and trying to bring the junior class’s general opinions into the meetings,” he said.
Lastly, the new activities coordinator Daphne Gregory ‘26 has some inspirational words on why she joined the environmental club, “I really like the idea of joining a club that is morally impactful and that I can find a way to be more eco-friendly really makes me feel closer to the beautiful world that God has created for us.”
