This Homecoming season, proposals are rising in creativity, making the simple question a fun, exciting tradition full of surprises and school pride.
Every year, when dresses start to sell out and plans are being made, people’s Instagram stories are filled with cute hoco proposals and posters. The real surprise though, is not knowing when you are getting a poster, if you are.
“I was super excited to receive a homecoming poster,” Payton Bosari ‘28 said, “my initial reaction was surprised and excited, especially because there was so much to the poster.”
It’s not only just a poster with the question, “Will you go to Homecoming with me?” Each poster is unique and special to the person, reflecting on what they like and are interested in.
“My poster was from the Disney movie, Up, and it had Dug on it with a house cut out, balloons, and he also brought me flowers and a Dug stuffed animal,” Bosari said, “This connected with me because I am obsessed with everything Disney and I love the movie, Up, especially Dug.”
These posters take time to make and also help with deciding on what to do and how you can make it connect with the person to show that you know them and what they like.
Ryan Cambeiro ‘28, who asked Bosari to homecoming said, “I did have to ask her mom for help on what her favorite movies were, but I was the one who put it all together and made the idea come to life.”
Hoco proposals are something everyone looks forward to each Homecoming season and are one of the best and most creative parts about Homecoming.
