Many Bishop Gorman students are familiar with the activities of the Upper Room youth program and Core Team at Holy Spirit and attend mass at that same church, but not all students live near the church; however, there are many other churches in the city where high schoolers can go to mass and join high school programs. Here are just four:
St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church hosts HangOut Nights in their youth room every second Friday of the month from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Saint Anthony of Padua (Northwest) Roman Catholic Church also has many high school ministries. The first is for high schoolers preparing for their Confirmation, which is only open to those in the Confirmation program. The second is called Social Night, which is open to any and all high school students.
Students can join St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church’s youth group, which meets Sundays from 3:30 to 4:00pm. The youth program is led by young adults and is open to all middle and high school students free of charge.
St. Francis of Assisi, located next to St. Anthony of Padua (Henderson) Catholic School, has a high school program that meets one Tuesday a month. The next three meetings are on Oct. 21, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16.
It is important for high schoolers to set a good foundation and be in the habit of going to church and practicing their faith to have that habit for their whole lives.
