In 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty Amazon Prime Video TV Series first debuted and has become an internet sensation since. After ten weeks of consistent new episodes, the highly anticipated finale dropped on Sept. 17. This kept fans, including many Bishop Gorman students, both thrilled by the conclusion and wistful that the summer series they’d been following had finally come to an end.
Across the show’s three seasons, fans have debated whether the main character, Belly, should end up with Conrad or Jeremiah. Both Isabella Redden ‘26 and Hailey Carey ‘26 expressed their support for Team Conrad. Similarly, Aryana Maini ‘27 shared, “I was rooting for Belly and Conrad to be together, and I’m very happy that they ended up together.”
Redden shared that after watching the finale she was “so satisfied, even more so when I heard there was a movie,” she continued, “I absolutely love Conrad.”
Carey, however, described the ending as “kind of a cliff hanger” and “not really a full good ending.” Carey continued saying that it could have been better, though she added, “I like Conrad, so it was good.”
Offering another perspective, Maini admitted “I’ve always hated Belly. I thought she was really annoying, and I thought Conrad deserved better, but I’m glad that he got what he wanted.”
The third season sparked strong emotions among fans. Comparing it to earlier seasons, Carey reflected “I liked the first two more because they were more summer-y, and this one wasn’t really summer, it was kind of more drama.”
Redden, on the other hand, felt differently, saying “I feel like it was way more fast-paced… because Conrad and Belly had a bunch of time together.”
Evidently, Conrad stood out as a fan favorite, and while season three brought the series to a close, fans remain eager for what’s next. With a movie now confirmed, viewers can look forward to seeing more of Conrad, Belly, and Jeremiah on screen.
