After a 3-1 win against the Arbor View Aggies and a tournament in Hawaii, the Bishop Gorman girls volleyball team started off the year strong in a match up against Palo Verde on Aug. 22.
With a team full of new faces and a new starting line up, the girls were pumped for their home game. Darby Vannah ‘27 explained, “We were really excited and pumped up for our first home game, of course we were a little bit nervous, but we were mainly excited.”
The girls maintained a positive attitude throughout the entire game. Each player, whether playing or not, kept a smile on their face, showing the great bond they have created and their encouraging mindset. Vannah explained, “Every ball that hits the floor you do learn something, you learn that maybe you were in the wrong spot, maybe you need to communicate more, but every ball dropped is a lesson to fix throughout the game.”
With this attitude the Gaels are sure to have a great season to come. They have already continued this energy, defeating Centennial on Monday. Their next game will be on Tuesday, Sept. 2 against Shadow Ridge.
