On Tuesday, Aug. 19, girls soccer brought a top notch performance to the soccer field, defeating Shadow Ridge 2-0.
This first league game allowed the team to get used to playing at home after a tournament in Reno just last weekend.

The team left everything on the field of this season’s first home game. Emma Flannery ‘26 said, “everyone on the team put all that they had into the game.”
This game was a good way for the Gaels to determine the trajectory of this fall season. Devyn Giraldo ‘26 said, “coming off this win builds our confidence as a team and will give us the momentum to keep winning through the rest of the season.”
Even with this early-season victory, there is always room for improvement. “We definitely could have gotten a few more chances but we were able to come up with a good result,” Breanna Cross ‘26 shared.
Overall, the victory in this match allowed the ladies of the varsity soccer team to get used to playing together as a team and prepare for the season they have ahead.
Just before the varsity team played, the JV teams went head to head, ending with the Gaels securing a 3-0 victory.
