On Friday, May 2, the energy was electric at Bishop Gorman’s annual prom assembly, where games, skits, and dances brought students together for a mix of fun and spirited preparation for the prom dance on May 3.
The assembly featured several games and activities that were performed even by some of the students themselves. It started off with the dance team’s number, followed by an appreciation for the men’s baseball and volleyball seniors. Then the skits began, starting off with Lola Medrala ‘26 and Zach Coneh ‘26. Next, a big hit for the assembly was the “Mamma Mia Rizz Off.” Everyone in the stands had lots of energy and went crazy for the participants. During this, they had to pick and deliver a specific pick up line to previous prom queen, Bernice Moshos ‘25.
Lucia Mazzara ‘25 stated, “It was definitely a crowd favorite, a lot of the students in the bleachers all went super hype and were cheering so loud.”

The skits continued on, each with a different storyline and songs included. There were Giacomo Ferrence ‘26 & Charlie Wilson ‘26, Cooper Machalalad ‘26 & Sutton Mcveigh ‘26, Luke Fletes ‘26 & Ainsley Hartsell ‘26, finally finishing off with Cade Seitman ‘26 & Erica Kaffenberger ‘26.
Macalalad talked about his skit prep and stated, “There were many things needed in preparation for the skit, like choreographing the dance and assigning formations, ordering shirts and coordinating times for rehearsals, to the editing of the audio recordings. But overall, it was really fun to do and I am so proud of the skit that Sutton and I had made together.”

There were also several performances given by Bishop Gorman’s color guard, drum line, and even some of the teachers gave their own choreographed piece. There were also many senior sports, like softball, men’s & women’s lacrosse, dance, track & field, band, and men’s golf that walked out for their goodbyes. Following the ASG senior mentions, there was also an appreciation for the retiring President of the school, Mr. Kilduff, who has been super involved with Bishop Gorman for various years now.
Averie Smith ‘25 said, “Mr. Kilduff has left an extreme impact on the Gorman community, as he was a huge asset to the new Student Union building in its duration.”
Overall the assembly was a great success, with lots of energy, and fun dances to bring the school together. This entire assembly also helped set the tone for a night of celebration, friends, and lasting memories. As the assembly wrapped up and students spilled out of the gym, the excitement for prom was recognized. With spirits high and smiles all around, Bishop Gorman’s prom weekend was off to a picture-perfect start.
Soren Savarda ‘27 talked about the assembly saying, “I think that this year’s assembly was really diverse, with the skits, and all the lively energy everyone brought. You could really tell that there was a lot of planning and time put into all of it.”
