On Apr. 16th, it was Bishop Gorman’s last signing day of the year where the last nine senior student athletes officially signed the binding National Letter of Intent for their collegiate sport.
Kage Mir ‘25 is attending Lander University, SC for mens wrestling. “It’s really stressful for seniors to have to worry about college and stuff and to know that I have a place to be and somewhere that will take me and believe in me and my talents is a really good feeling,” said Mir.
Isabella Iway ‘25 is attending Wheeling University, WV for women’s lacrosse. Coach Dacia Persky said how “any program would be lucky to have her… you have set the standard”.
Anthony Hickman ‘25 is attending Concordia University St. Paul, MN for football. “He’s flourished in his position,” said Coach Brent Browner. Phillip Sampson Jr. ‘25 is attending Allegheny College, PA for football. Browner described in his speech how Sampson has “been grinding for all four years”. Alongside him was his Gorman teammate CJ Raab III ‘25 who is attending Snow College, UT for football.
Brianna Sorillo ‘25 is attending the Illinois Institute of Technology, IL for women’s cross country and Clara Estiandan ‘25 is also attending the Illinois Institute of Technology to play women’s soccer. Miranda Buch ‘25 is attending Leslie University, MA for women’s basketball.
Gabriella Martinez ‘25 is attending the U.S. Military Academy West Point, NY for women’s cross country. During Coach Bree Thorpe’s speech she began to choke up on her words. “She taught me not only how to be a great athlete but a good person,” said Martinez.
All of these student athletes have shown their dedication, passion, and love for the sport excited for it to carry onto the next chapter of their lives.
