Varsity baseball played in 2025 National Classic at Eldorado High School in Placentia, CA placing 4th in the tournament.
California Competitive Youth Baseball is a youth baseball league in California that offers a competitive playing field for young players to develop their skills.
Austin Arteaga ‘26 said, “we played good, we faced a good team, lost by one and then the next day we just had a bad day.” However, Arteaga said that, “we were hitting well first couple of days, and we pitched well.”
Winning there first two games went incredibly well for the varsity players; however, their next game was against Aquinas, a top team in California that started off with the Gaels up one, but they were unable to pull through with a victory. Avi Garg ‘26 said, “ we played alright, came with lot of energy, but settled down at the end.”
Although some games happened to not go their way, varsity found fun and excitement throughout the tournament, creating memorable moments for the whole team. Nolan Eberwein ‘25 said, “as a team we played pretty good, we lost a close game, but we keep getting better, progressing as a team we’ll win those games.”
Being defeated by top team would seem to be discouraging but as Garg reflected, “we tackle each day as a new day.”
