Every spring, families around the world celebrate Easter with various traditions like egg hunts, church services, and festive meals, bringing loved ones together to honor both faith and fun.
Beyond religion, Easter brings communities together with vibrant traditions. Cultures all around the world each celebrate Easter in their own unique ways. Typically the main traditions in the United States include egg hunts, church services, and festive meals between family or friends.
“My favorite Easter tradition is participating in an Easter egg hunt with my family. Even though we are getting older these traditions continue to provide a sense of nostalgia,” said Lauren Funai 27’.
For many, the holiday begins with a Sunday church service, followed by a big family meal. “My family and I do attend church on Easter early in the morning, doing this every year reminds me what Easter is truly about, which is connecting and celebrating our faith,” said Katherine Hsu 26’. Across the United States, Easter meals often feature traditional dishes like glazed ham, roast lamb, or fried chicken, accompanied by sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, and deviled eggs. Some families even have their own unique traditions, like matching Easter outfits, baking Easter themed desserts, or hosting brunch for friends and family to celebrate.
While Easter is celebrated and has its own special significance to people all over the world, it remains a powerful reminder of togetherness and highlights the meaningful intersections between faiths and cultures during the spring season.
