Zippy’s, now located in Hualapai, is a new neighbor to the Bishop Gorman community. Students and alumni are taking a trip there since the franchise is offering a discount to all Bishop Gorman attendees (with a student ID card present) from April 7-13.
Zippy’s, originally founded back in 1966, is a great family restaurant and brings the Aloha vibes no matter the location or season.
Peyton Cezar ‘28 has not only been to the Zippy’s on Hualapai, but also the restaurant by Arroyo Crossing and in Hawaii. “I have been to Zippy’s with my parents, sister, grandparents, as well as my aunt.” Cezar was a huge fan of their service and even suggested visiting there again. “The food is “ono” (tasty in Hawaiian), and the service is full of Aloha.” Her favorite meal was “Da chili and rice”, which consists of chili, no beans, rice, and a side of fried chicken.
If you or someone you know is a fan of Hawaiian cuisine and decor, Zippy’s is a great choice. Aside from students’ opinions, they’ve had nothing but great reviews like “great portion sizes” or “service was great even when busy”.
Vanessa Rabago ‘28, a close friend of Cezar, also visits Zippy’s regularly. “I went there last week, but I go to Zippy’s at least twice a month.” Her favorite meal is the “three chicken combo with the Korean Fried Chicken, Normal Fried Chicken, and the Chicken Katsu.” She even plans on going to Zippy’s after school this week. Since this restaurant is known for bribing families together, Rabago shares who she usually goes with. “I usually go with my grandparents and parents. I’ve never gone with Peyton (Cezar), but I plan on going with her and I’m looking forward to it.”
If you can, check out the new Zippy’s location on Hualapai to experience the Hawaiian cuisine. Take out and Dine in will be open from 6am- midnight daily. Walk-ins are welcome, as well as job opportunities!
