This Wednesday and Thursday, the forensic science and AP psychology classes played a game of speed dating with a unique twist.
As students learn in the Honors Forensic Science 1 class, the three main causes of crime are money, emotion, and revenge. Students were each assigned a criminal or victim of a crime of love, involving the passionate emotions of love and revenge.
After being assigned their criminal or victim, the students were to research them and make tent shaped name tags with the person’s name and image on the front, as well as information about that person and a pick up line on the back.

On the day of the speed dating activity, students reenacted speed dating, but in character: they were to take on the persona of the person they researched and go through the activity talking about the crime they committed.
Norah Khayat ‘26, a student in fourth period Honors Forensic Science, said that she enjoyed getting to join another class to do this activity. “I loved how we were able to merge with the other class. It was interesting to talk to new people about different crimes in a fun, decorated setting.”
All in all, this was a fun activity to celebrate Valentine’s Day that also helped to keep students engaged in learning about different types of criminals.
