A brand new Bible Study Club launched at Bishop Gorman in early Dec. 2024, open to all students hoping to grow their faith in the Lord and learn more about His word.
Micaela Sells ‘26 created the club with the help of vice president Sydney McIntosh ‘26 and moderator Mr. Manfredi, and since then the club has been holding meetings on campus twice a month. “God had really been tugging on my heart to do a Bible Study Club at Gorman. I wanted to create a community at Bishop Gorman where we learn more about the Lord as a group, and grow together in Him,” Sells said.
At club meetings, which are held in Mr. Manfredi’s classroom, students can learn about different Bible verses and engage in different crafts and group discussions. Trent Walker ‘27, a member of Bible Study Club, said, “I like everything about the club, but I especially love seeing the members lose their fear when talking about their faith.”
Walker went on to explain how helpful it has been for him to be able to learn from others in the club, and how the atmosphere of the meetings has helped him gain so much confidence in sharing his faith.
The club has no prerequisites, except for showing up with an open heart and an open mind. “All are welcome,” Sells said. “Anyone interested can join our Google Classroom (code: zdlsnjy), or find our Instagram @bg.biblestudy.”
Bible Study Club has already met success at Bishop Gorman after operating for such a short amount of time, and members cannot wait to see how much it grows. “This club is run by an amazing group of people, and it’s great to see kids my age spreading the gospel. I know in the future this club will grow and touch the hearts of everyone on campus,” Walker expressed.
