The start of the school year brings some changes throughout Bishop Gorman’s campus. One of these new additions to the school campus ministry is Mr. Greg Sinclair. Although Mr. Sinclair is holding a new position for this school year, he is very familiar to the Gorman community having taught theology classes at Bishop Gorman since 2022.
Mr. Sinclair has been involved in the Catholic church for quite some time, making positive contributions around parishes. As soon as he received the invitation to teach theology at Bishop Gorman, though, he was ready to share his knowledge in the classroom.
“I’ve done a lot of work in town in the archdiocese with people of all ages. When Mr. Kiefer gave me the call and invited me to come to Gorman. I said yes, yes, happily,” Mr. Sinclair said, reflecting on his first invitation to join the Bishop Gorman staff a few years ago. Since then, he has left a mark in the theology department, helping to improve Christian service hours and inspiring students along the way.
Why did he make this move from teaching theology to working with Campus Ministry? According to Mr. Sinclair, it just made sense, “I made the change in roles because I was invited to, and I have been working most of last year on ideas on what we can do for the school, in the area of renewing our approach towards Christian service.”
The transition between roles can be seemingly intimidating, but Mr. Sinclair said, “it has been really good. This new role is a combination of my prior experience in parish ministry and public school education as well as what I have done the last three years here in theology.”
Through past opportunities working with ministries around the valley, Mr. Sinclair feels that this new position allows him to put all of his “gifts into practice on a daily basis.”
At the end of the day, Mr. Sinclair goes back to his deep roots in theology. “It’s my family business. We have all worked for the catholic church in one way or another. So I am very involved in our local Parish and it has become part of us,” Sinclair said. He has definitely become a vital part of the Bishop Gorman community, and will work to help students and staff members become the best they can be, this year.
