The Old Hollywood prom dance was held on Saturday, May 4 this year.
Bishop Gorman juniors and seniors, as well as their dates, came dressed beautifully for the event. Kastyla Torralba ‘25 said she liked how everyone was dressed at prom. She commented, “I got to see all my friends and others all dressed up nice.”
The dance itself was decorated very elegantly. With a Hollywood sign and excellent lighting, the room was perfectly set in the Old Hollywood theme. Jasmyn Hill ‘25 explained her experience of walking into the dance. “When you first walk in, you get a wave of fresh popcorn, and the lights were dimmed to the perfect setting which helped to set the mood.”
The energy at this prom was also perfect. With fast and slow dances, there were ways for everyone to have fun this year. Hill explained her favorite part of prom was in fact the slow dances with her date. “The slow dance allowed people to connect and make memories on a different level and also allowed us to wind down and end the night on a good note!”
Hill also said that overall, her prom experience was simply amazing. She commented, “Prom was so surreal! The atmosphere and the people there made the experience better than I would have ever imagined! You could tell that everyone there came to have a good time and everyone was just excited to be there as well.”
At the dance, Bernice Moshsos ‘25 and Alex Perez ’25 were crowned prom king and queen. This year’s prom dance was an excellent way to end the 2024 prom week and give students something to look forward to for next year.
