BSU Visits City Hall

Black Student Union had the opportunity to visit the Las Vegas City Hall. Hosted by Councilman Crear, the students got to interact with Bishop Gorman graduate Judge Kelly Giordani.

The students also got to meet Las Vegas firefighters and city attorneys, as well as the City Hall TV production and social media teams. Mr. Nixon, who is the BSU staff coordinator, said that it was, “All in all a great informative learning experience for our BG staff.”

Hi! My name is Makenzie Medford and I am part of the Class of 2026. This is my first year as Editor in Chief of The Lance, and my third year on the paper. Previously, I held the positions of Staff Writer (freshmen year) and School News Editor (sophomore year). Other than writing for the paper at school, I am a member of WiSTEM, SASA, and Teen Empowerment at school. Outside of school, I play club soccer and I am a member of the Core Team at Holy Spirit. I am very excited to see what's in store for the paper in the future!
