Heart Opulencia '27 and Makenzie Medford ‘26

On Thursday this week, students got to dress as their favorite movie character or as their favorite movie era.

Riley Hermenegildo ‘26 said, “I like that the theme is very broad, which makes it easier to dress up as anything you’d like. It is fun to guess who everyone is dressed up as.”

Friday is Blue and Orange Day and an assembly will take place that afternoon to celebrate prom and the end of the year.

My name is Heart Opulencia and I’m in the class of 2027. I am currently the photography editor and assist the entertainment editor for The Lance. I am also a part of the varsity pom team, medical society, Quill and Scroll Honor Society and AAPI student union here at Bishop Gorman. A couple of hobbies I enjoy are dancing, photography, writing, and hanging out with friends.

Hi! My name is Makenzie Medford and I am part of the Class of 2026. This is my first year as Editor in Chief of The Lance, and my third year on the paper. Previously, I held the positions of Staff Writer (freshmen year) and School News Editor (sophomore year). Other than writing for the paper at school, I am a member of WiSTEM, SASA, and Teen Empowerment at school. Outside of school, I play club soccer and I am a member of the Core Team at Holy Spirit. I am very excited to see what's in store for the paper in the future!
