Bishop Gorman Varsity Quiz has dominated the competition in a stellar performance this season.
Varsity Quiz is a team who goes against other schools in the Las Vegas Valley in a Jeopardy style competition.

In these matches, there are three rounds. Round 1 entails 30 questions ranging from pop culture, British literature, and politics. Round 2 is the toss up round. When one team answers correctly, they get two bonus questions. Lastly, round 3 is the speed round. The goal of this round is to answer as many questions as quickly as possible. At the end of these three rounds, the judges will add up all the scores to determine the winner.

“It’s given me an outlet for some of the more arcane stuff that I know about. It is a chance to actually use my knowledge about basically all things politics and history, aside from government class.” Varsity Quiz Co- captain Carter Umphress said.

Every Monday, Varsity Quiz travels to Palo Verde High School to take down a different high school in their division.

Varsity Quiz is not only a club, but a team. All members work together to come up with correct answers and land on top.

“Obviously we want to win the whole championship and be the best varsity quiz team in the world.” Co- captain stated his goals for this year’s Varsity Quiz team.
