Bishop Gorman High School hosted their largest assembly of the year, the Homecoming Assembly.
Behind the biggest assembly of the year, a whole host of students, teachers and faculty worked around the clock to come up with a theme, and to create an entertaining atmosphere on campus.
One of the main figures in charge of the preparations is Activities Director, Mr. Gleich. Gleich stated that “every time we have an assembly the prep is just making sure all the MC’s are on the same page and know the plan. We also need our rally coordinator and tech coordinator to be on the same page so that everything runs smoothly.”
All these preparations were especially important for the skits at the assembly.
“The process for an assembly or rally starts one to two weeks in advance. We begin making slides, preparing the script, and then we need to have rally practices to make sure everyone is dialed in, especially the skits,” stressed Gleich.
One part that made this assembly different from the other Bishop Gorman assemblies was the Barbie theme.
Gleich said that what prompted the theme was, “Barbie was such a global sensation this summer so if we didn’t do it now, there would never be another change. The color scheme was so bright and happy. We were very excited about it.”
