Monday
Monday we celebrated the beginning of Spirit week, opening up with a Barbie classic: Pink Out.
Tuesday
Tuesday was for the boys. On this day, we brought the country to us, celebrating Welcome to the “Kendom”, putting together all good things: the country, horses, and patriarchy.
Wednesday
Wednesday was a day to remember. During the day, the Barbies and Kens took it easy, wth comfy clothes. Then, later that night, the Powderpuff games began. It was a long, hard battle. But, the 2024 Seniors were able to take it all. The powderpuff MVP, Hunter Borgel ‘24 spoke upon her favorite part of powderpuff. “My favorite part would have to be being able to play with all the girls there, they’re super nice and fun to be around and I had so much fun playing. Winning was definitely a bonus!”
Thursday
Thursday was Career Barbie. Around campus, business men and women, future athletes, and students wearing their future colleges were all spotted. On this day, students learned that they can be anything.
Friday
The big day finally arrived, Friday. To keep the tradition going, Friday’s theme was Ultimate Blue and Orange. The day was filled with fun activities such as the Senior Parade, Senior photos, and even the Senior Girls photo, spelling out “Welcome To The Dreamhouse. Bishop Gorman Barbie Homecoming 2023!!” Later that day, the assembly went into full swing. This assembly was filled with six hilarious skits, some incredible cheer performances, and celebrating our wonderful senior fall athletes. Throughout the day, there were many alumni activities, including the Alumni Mass and Luncheon, the Alumni Softball Game, and the Alumni tailgate before the football game. It was wonderful to see so many Bishop Gorman graduates come back to their alma mater to see their friends and possibly even past teachers. Later that night, we celebrated our JV team under the Fertitta Field lights, with the homecoming queen being crowned during the halftime show. Congratulations to our 2023-2024 Homecoming Queen, Sabrina Young.
Saturday
Saturday was the day of the homecoming dance. We saw so many people make it to the wonderfully decorated Barbie Land here at Gorman. During the dance, the Homecoming king was crowned. Shoutout to our new Homecoming King, Micah Alejado. Gaels danced the night away, and celebrated a wonderful week here at the G, wrapping it up on the dance floor.
