Bishop Gorman’s Women’s Flag Football team traveled to Beaverton, Oregon from Aug. 23 to 26 to compete at the Nike Headquarters.
The team played against some of the top teams across the country and finished 2-0 in the tournament, proving why they belonged there.
Bishop Gorman found some success on offense through quarterback Avery Reed ‘26 and wide receiver Tia Brown ‘25. The duo accounted for four touchdowns over the course of two games. Brown also had an interception on defense. However, the Gaels played lights out on defense allowing zero points in the games they played.
Even though the Gaels traveled to Oregon to play a game, the experience they got from the Nike team is what made the trip so special. Preseah Williams ‘26, says that “the team played a great game and it was also great to experience everything Nike had to offer to us.”
Nike provided the team with new jerseys, cleats, gloves, mouthpieces, and sleeves. The overall experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity according to Madelyn Ager ‘26, “I had a great time and not many people got to experience what we did this weekend.”
