The highly anticipated Bishop Gorman prom week 2023 was celebrated April 23rd to April 29th.

Traditionally at Bishop Gorman a spirit week proceeds the big dance, and this year the events were centered around the “Down by the Bayou” theme including “Gone Fishin’ and “Mardi Gras.”

Other than the spirit and dress up days,  two important events occurred at the end of the week. On Friday, April 28, there was an assembly held during fourth period which included the traditional walking out of 120 spring sport athletes. The annual Prom skits from the elected prom court were performed at the assembly. Several of the Bishop Gorman staff participated in the skits and with the dance team.

The most important event of the week arrived on Saturday with the dance at the Red Rock Ballrooms from 7-10 pm. Decorations for the event followed the bayou theme including a stunning light encrusted lattice entry, beautiful trees, centerpieces that looked like floating fireflies, and a special picture backdrop that included a real rope swing.  Delicious sliders and fries were served along with a special dessert: beignets! Chandler Shulman and Sage Barton were crowned the 2023 Bishop Gorman Prom King and Queen.
