Outer Banks crew search for the lost city
The long awaited Season 3 of the acclaimed TV drama, Outer Banks, has arrived. With its first ever season airing during Covid, it is no surprise that the target audience has evolved. Yet, this does not change the fact that viewers still find themselves pushed to the edge of their seats watching Season 3 episodes.
Bishop Gorman student, Skylar Poelmans states, “ I thought that it was a very good production, and I’m really glad they made Season 3.”
She had really high expectations for Season 3 and rated the show a 9 out of 10. Skylar’s opinion, however, was in complete opposition to BGHS senior Emma Kafenberger’s, who stressed her lack of interest with the new season.
“It was too focused on the treasure and there wasn’t enough drama.” Like some fans, Emma enjoyed the first two seasons much more than the newest one. Many Outer Banks viewers have noticed that this season was more about the task at hand instead of the subplot relationships which was what most fans were interested in. Yet, there are still fans such as Ella Redden who continue to love all content surrounding Outer Banks.
“I thought it was absolutely amazing, like I said, a cinematic masterpiece,” Ella explains her enthusiasm about the suspense, adventure, and compelling romance within the show.
Outer Banks fans have felt the tension between Outer Banks characters, JJ and Kiara, since Season 1. The new season has fans in a chokehold with the new relationship content. Jeffrey Baldi comments on the new relationship, “ That was interesting. I didn’t expect it, but, yes, I liked it.”
Overall, Season 3 was successful in entertaining its viewers and captivating them with the many adventures within the episodes. Netflix has announced that Outer Banks is renewed for Season 4, leading fans on a treasure hunt to discover the purpose of the surprise at the end of Season 3.
