Gorman family Christmas traditions

Bishop Gorman students state their special Christmas traditions.

Many of the students have their own little ways to share quality Christmas time with family and friends. Sophomore Sutton Soft shared that her family likes to “decorate gingerbread houses, decorate sugar cookies, and have a Christmas pajama party.” She also mentioned that she always had a “special Christmas morning breakfast.”

The different traditions vary from baking cookies, to participating in different activities throughout the month of December. For example, freshman Ellie Prindl does a “secret Santa gift exchange” with her whole family every year on Christmas Eve.

There may be different traditions families can share, but when to start decorating for Christmas is a controversial topic. Mentioning whether people decorate the day after Thanksgiving, or on December 1. freshman Lauren Gross says, “It really depends on the year and what my family prefers to do, but it’s usually a little before December 1 and a little after Thanksgiving.”

Junior Alan Santiago also shared his family tradition, “every year my family comes into town and we have a huge Christmas party including games, and other fun Christmas activities.”
