Written and directed by Parker Finn, the psychological horror movie, Smile, has petrified audiences around the country this past month.

Voted this year’s most popular horror movie by Variety’s William Earl, Smile came out on September 30th and has become a nationwide phenomenon that has made its way to televised sports and social media.

After seeing the movie, BGHS student Teddy Schumacher ’26 notes it as “one of the scariest horror movies produced in a long time,” and rated the scare factor level a ten.

Smile has been showing for about a month and is known for its jump scares and gore. “You don’t really expect what’s going to happen and everyone was shocked,” Isabella Haddad ’26 states.

“Probably the smiles, they got me good,” Savannah White ’26 mentions when asked her most-liked part of the movie, yet thought that some of the scenes were too graphic. Still, she would watch it again and liked its surprising ending.

Schumacher, on the other hand, had a different opinion concerning its final scene, “I thought it was a really bad ending and they just led it up to have a second one,” Nonetheless, she would possibly watch it again and suggests that people should watch it because it is frightening.
